We are now accepting submission of abstracts for consideration for an ACS Division of Chemical Information (CINF) Symposium at the ACS Fall 2015 Meeting in Boston, MA, Aug 16-20, 2015. 

Frank Allen, Herman Skolnik Award Winner 2003 passed away

Dr. Frank Allen, winner of the ACS CINF Herman Skolnik Award in 2003, passed away on November 10, aged 70.  The Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC) writes “Frank joined the Chemical Crystallography Group at the University of Cambridge in 1970 and played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Cambridge Structural Database. He went on to become the Scientific Director and then the Executive Director of the CCDC.

Designed to help persons with an interest in the fields of Chemistry and Information to pursue graduate study in Library, Information, or Computer Science, the Scholarship consists of a $1,500 honorarium. This scholarship is given yearly by the Division of Chemical Information of the American Chemical Society.

Call for Nominations: The Patterson-Crane Award

Do you have a colleague whom you feel should be acknowledged for their work in chemical information?  The Dayton and Columbus Sections of the American Chemical Society, which sponsor the Patterson-Crane Award, would like to hear from you. The biennial award consists of a $3,000 honorarium and a personalized commendation and is to be presented in the Spring of 2015 at an awards dinner to be held in Columbus, Ohio.  The recipient is expected to give an address at the time of the award presentation.
