2006 Lucille M. Wert Scholarship Award: Olivia Bautista Sparks
This year, the scholarship designed to help persons with an interest in the field of Chemical Information to pursue graduate study in Library, Information or Computer Science, will be presented to Olivia Bautista Sparks. Olivia has a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Florida, Gainesville, in 2000, a M.A. in Chemistry from the University of Arizona, Tucson, in 2001, and expects to receive her M.A. in Library Science from the same University at the end of this year. Currently, she is a Practicum Student at the Noble Science and Engineering Library at Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ. Previously, she was a Library Assistant at the Santan Junior High Campus of CUSD, Chandler, AZ, and spent one month as an Intern in the Science Library at MIT.
Olivia plans to attend the ACS meeting in San Francisco and will receive her award at the Divisional luncheon. This is a good opportunity to meet the 2006 winner of the award.
