shall re-institute publication of the Administrative Issue and eliminate the
newsletter. News shall appear on the Web first, then the bulletin. Abstracts for
the technical sessions are on the Web.
Boston: The division will
celebrate its 50th anniversary as a division in Boston. The Tri-Society
Symposium (joint with the Special Libraries Association and the American Society
for Information Science) is entitled Untangling the Web of Chemical
Information. The Herman Skolnik Symposium will also take place in Boston. If
anyone would like to help, please see Charles Gragg.
CHMINF-L
Listserv: The Executive Committee voted to support the Chemical Information
Sources Discussion List (CHMINF-L) listserv when it becomes private on 1 January
1998. Bob Buntrock asked whether the list will charge a subscription. SLA's
Chemistry Division also agreed to support the listserv; there will not be any
individual charges.
Announcement: The first Joint Council
Committee on Publications and Chemical Abstracts Service Open Meeting begins at
4:30 p.m.
There being no further business to discuss, the meeting was
adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
