2007 Lucille M. Wert Scholarship: Andrea Wright

The scholarship administered by the Division of Chemical Information of the American Chemical Society consist of a $1,500 grant and a complimentary one-year CINF membership. It is designed to help persons with an interest in the field of Chemical Information to pursue graduate studies in Library Information or Computer Science. The 2007 award will be presented to Andrea Wright.

Andrea has a B.S. in Chemistry from Furman University, Greenville, SC, and is currently pursuing an M.A. in Library and Information Science at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC. During her undergraduate years at Furman, she spent two summers as a Student Researcher synthesizing and studying the interaction of chromium complexes with biological substrates. She is a member of the University of South Carolina’s American Society for Information Science and Technology student group. In 2006 she received a travel grant from the ASIS&T Science and Technology Information Special Interest Group to attend the Annual Convention of ASIS&T. As part of her curriculum, she is planning to undertake research on Virtual References Services.
