2008 Lucille M. Wert Scholarship to Huijun Wang


The scholarship administered by the Division of Chemical Information of the American Chemical Society consist of a $1,500 grant and a complimentary one-year CINF membership. It is designed to help persons with an interest in the field of Chemical Information to pursue graduate studies in Library Information or Computer Science. The 2008 award will be presented to Huijun Wang.

Huijun has a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Peking University and a M.S. degree in Chemical Informatics from Indiana University. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Chemical Informatics at the same university. Her thesis deals with the development of new techniques for the next generation of searching tools. She has several publications to her credit and presented some of her work at three National ACS meetings. In 2007 she received the CINF- ElsevieMDL Scholarship Award for Scientific Excellence. She spent the summer of 2007 at DowAgroScience as a Software Engineering Statistician Intern.
